Bottled 500ml. -as Rudgate Ruby Red Ale. Cola coloured, medium sized beige head, caramel and light cardboard in the nose. Toasted malt, caramel, light dog food and some fruity touch with short watery finish.

Bottle from Morrisons. Pours a deep ruby colour with a medium sized creamy beige head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, dark fruits, berries with a hint of roasted malts and chocolate. Taste has more dark fruits, roasty notes, caramel, liquorice, toasty bread and nuts. Burnt note on the finish. Medium to full body with a smooth oily mouthfeel. Nice one.

Tight foamy tan head on a dark ruby coloured body. Toffee, caramel & liquorice aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with tingle on the back. Liquorice, toffee, fruity, caramel & malt tastes with a tangy finish. Lovely

Was surprised to find I’d not rated this before, as I’ve drunk it several times in the past. Anyway, this time cask at Old Dolphin, Derby. It pours a dark ruby red with minimal head. Has an old style malty aroma with hints of coffee. Malts again in the mouth together cherries, fruit cake, raisins and a trace of cola. Finish is dry and fruity. A pretty decent mild all round.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Chocolatey notes in the aroma. Quite dark ruby, verging on black. Slight cola finish to it, but a pretty agreeable ruby. Could go the distance with it for sure.

Flaska från SB. Mahognyfärgad klar vätska med medelhögt krämigt beige skum. Doft av bröd, nötter, fudge, läder, och en liten om inte rök så åtminstone lite bränt trä. Rejäl kropp med riktigt snygg maltprofil, rejäla smaker som doften. Relativt söt smakbild och mer bränt socker än bränt trä men ändå ganska torr trots minimal beska utan snarare en eftersmak med mjöligt knäckebröd. Riktigt trevlig
