500ml bottle. Dark brown ruby colour, foam beige head and aroma of toffee, chocolate & raisins. Taste is sweetish malty with biscuit, toffee, chocolate, dark fruits and coffeeish light bitterness. Smooth, medium bodied, soft carbonation, roasted earthy finish. Quite drinkable.

chestnut color. Lots of toffee chocolate and treacles in the nose. The mouth shows toffee, a touch of nutiness and chocolate note with dark fruit. Light malty. Enjoyable

Medium creamy beige lasting head. Clear deep dark barely translucent brown body. Faint dusty caramelly aroma with wooden notes. Sweet fruity caramelly taste with dusty floral notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, flat, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish roasty caramelly aftertaste with dusty wooden notes. Subtle and highly drinkable. (0.284l cask, The Blue Bell, York.)

Very dark red ruby in colour, no head. Not much aroma, just a slight sweetness, but its more sweet in taste with the smallest of roasted malts too.

On tap @ the Haymarket Bar, Pours opaque black with ruby tints and a nice head. The nose is of liquorice and smoke. The taste is more of the same. The palate is medium bodied and textured with an elegant clean finish. Overall, great.
