En gammel flaske fra 2005 (#22), men du verden hvor god, tenk extra foreign eller litt imperial, men litt flat. Jeg mΓ₯ kjellerlagre mer!

50cl bottle scored via Secret Santa. Pours a semi viscous, mostly opaque brown with garnet edges and some creamy, lacing white head. Nose of mushrooms, grilled shiitakes actually, soy sauce, some, a little sausage fat, Worcestershire sauce, anchovy. Flavor is an umami blast, soy sauce, dark malts, burnt caramel, liquid smoke, lighter mushroom, some cherry, a little wood pulp, even some salmon roe. Surprised to find this isn’t a palate killer, medium bodied and dry. Incredibly balanced, unique and inviting and still entirely drinkable.

Bottle shared with (and courtasy of) veitafaen. Has a black colour with a medium beige head. Wonderful aromas of anis, dark chocolate, lots of coffee, roasted malt and dried fruit. A magnificent roasted flavour as well with tons of coffee again and pretty dark chocolate. Burned dark wood in the end. The mouthfeel is soft and smooth, and above medium bitterness. A fantastic beer with lots of roastedness. Great with cheese!

Small brown head. Opaque black body. Roasty earthy licorice aroma with floral notes. Quite elegant. Dry-sweet perfumy roasty cocoa taste with earthy metallic notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dry burnt milky dark chocolate aftertaste with earthy herbal notes. Interesting, complex, drinkable, and unusual. Might well make a good match for the blue cheese it’s designed to pair. (0.5l bottle.)
