Never very exciting, but when looked after it's a solid old school bitter - dark amber, near brown in colour, with a frothy white head and a semi-floral grainy malt aroma. Smooth and light bodied, it's sweetish fruit malt with subtle floral bitterness in the finish.

Cask @ The Abbey. Clear golden amber appearance, creamy white collar atop. Aroma of pale malt. Simplistic taste profile, fitting in line with a run of the mill, thin-bodied, easy-drinking 3.8% Banks's bitter mould, gentle bitterness.

Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 20/01/21. Blast from the past ... drank a lot of the relatively whelming but inoffensive BB when I lived in Wolvo, particularly down the Clarendon Arms (brewery tap). Golden amber with a decent white head. Nose is dusty fruits, hint of toffee apple, toasted grains, modest malt aromas, biscuit. Taste comprises biscuit malt, light apple core, toffee, dried fruits, grains, faint tea leaves. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a modest bitter nip. Passable for the style.
