Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel-brown color with a large soapy khaki head. The aroma was tangy, kind of funky and had a hint of root beer. The flavor was tangy, sour and had a light roasty malt presence. The finish was tangy and bitter. Pretty blah.

Poured a clear copper gold color with almost no white head. Looked a bit like apple juice. Smells of malt, slightly nutty with a hint of alcohol. Flat flavor, very grainy and only slightly malty. Not very bitter, finish is watery. This is the kind of flat, dingy beer an old man drinks on Saturday afternoon. Far from disgusting, but certainly not delicious.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Very vague aroma of nuts. Very light body, almost watery. Weak accents of caramel and nuts. Incredibly bland and disappointing. 060706

Bottled [BBE 05/2007]. Amber brown color, decent creamy head. Metallic woody and nutty aroma. Woody hops. Mildly bitter, sharp toffeeish and metallic. Some faint hops in the aftertaste. Unbalanced brown ale (or bitter).

500ml bottle. Seriously, when are British brewers going to understand that they have to serve their bottled beers as a live product as they are supposed to be. Iโ€™m tired of dead beers with a boiled sweet flavour. This has a mahogany colour with lasting off white thick head. Slightly dead malt aroma and some dark malts too. Not too much hop. Bit of boiled sweet. Some hop bitterness on end.

Bottle Pours a clear medium brown with a fairly thick foamy light tan head that sticks around. The lacing is also thick and sticky looking. Aromas are light and pale for what I expected from the style. Still nutty and somewhat sweet. Flavor is a plain pale wet cardboard. Earthy, woody and nutty but not impressivl\y so. Nice smooth feel. Very slight hop bitterness at the end and a clean finish. Pleasant but nothing special but canโ€™t find anyting I really donโ€™t like either.
