Sample at Brass Tap Polaris. The beer is a brown-black color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily to a dense film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of charred malt, coffee and bittersweet chocolate. The finish is roasty with a chocolate and malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Tap at Ei8ht Ball. Opaque black body. Oily beige head. Rich, coffee forward IS. Smooth, mellow easy carbonation, a touch watery. Seriously syrupy and rich. A touch one-dimensional, but enjoyable.

Draft: Nearly black with a creamy, dark head. Coffee, chocolate cake aroma. Coffee malt, slightly bitter flavour...creamy, very tasty.... Go for the Nitro version, if available...even creamier and richer...both are excellent.

Draft (had both regular and nitro versions). Wood ash and chocolate malt aroma. Black with moderate tan head. Sweet woody chocolate malt flavor. Light bitter ash finish. Low carbonation. Very smooth and drinkable.
