Inspired by the classic Dutch cookie best enjoyed with a cup of coffee. Our brewers used rich caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, and freshly roasted coffee beans to bring that experience to our signature, bourbon barrel-aged Stout.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to snifter.
Appearance: black in the pour and black in the glass, thin wisp of a little off white foamy head which inwardly dissipated and didn't leave any lace
Aroma: doughy to baked-like to cookie dough-ish character in front, caramel malts with some cinnamon, coffee roastiness, dark malts, toasted vanilla beans, woody/oaky sweetness
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together to a sweet to earthy toned and doughy/pastry vibe; mild finish of some oak barrel, cinnamon and coffee roastiness
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper!; some dryness is invasive to the tongue with some cinnamon clinging to the tongue
Overall: so much going on with this beer, not even sure if I got it all in this review, so of course I'd be willing to come back to this, maybe I'll pick up something different the following time I have this again.

12oz bottle pours with a nice deep dark colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up inviting caramel blended with cinnamon as well as dark roasted coffee and a mild hit of bourbon booze. The taste delivers a complex array of roasty to dessert like notes. I get dark roasted coffee sweetened by malts and vanilla folding over thinner notes of cinnamon and caramel and a decidedly cookie sensation. The barrel treatment comes in toward the finish and provides modest smooth supple and sweet bourbon notes and a warming sense of booziness. Interesting sipper with great balance and depth.

04/27/22. Very dark brown, creamy tan head. Smells sweet caramel, some coffee, cinnamon, cookies. Somewhat cream but thin body. Taste is roasty first, some bitterness, but the stroopwafel actually comes through quite nice. Some bourbon, scoop of cinnamon.

The aromas are dark malt and black patent with maybe a hint of bourbon. Flavors are similar to nose, a touch of cinnamon in there and on the sweet side. Decent but nothing special.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2022. Pours a hazy deep dark brown with a chesnut brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a stroopwaffle and sweet grains with caramel, bourbon and dark grains backing. Flavor has more dark grains and coffee with some caramel and stroopwaffle coming through.
