One of the most barren lands in the Cloud Empire, Amethyst City's intrigue lies in its folklore. The few lucky souls who have escaped claim the foggy island is guarded by thick-scaled creatures who tempt travelers with riches buried in various fortresses. The smog causes some to hallucinate, giving false reality that they've found a bounty of treasures, only to later realize they're collecting bones, sand and rubble
