A stout as black as the nearby volcanic flow from which it is named. Dive into its dark, robust depths with intense layers of espresso and chocolate. Roasted malt and barley give it a full, toasty finish.

Had this on Nitro at St. Augustine’s. Not entirely impressive. Pours jet black with carpet head and lacing. Creamy texture. Aroma has roast malt and a twang of hops. Finishes very light - with only a nutty bitterness and some sourness. Aroma has coffee as well.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a shaker. Pours black with big light brown head, and nice small bubble lacing. Medium thick body, low/medium carbonation, and slighty sweet roasty aroma. Taste is slightly sweet roasty malt and milk chocolate. Pretty good.

Draft (nitro) in pint glass. Consistently dark, yet clean looking. Fine, small head. Smooth and creamy.

Bottle - Bitter chocolate, coffee and all the usual suspects in a stout. Opaque black, brown thick head. Taste of dark chocolate is prevalent, but a nice hop bitterness to cut the sweetness. No over the top sweet alcohol finish. Rich on the palate. Nice stout.
