A stout as black as the nearby volcanic flow from which it is named. Dive into its dark, robust depths with intense layers of espresso and chocolate. Roasted malt and barley give it a full, toasty finish.

Nitro draft @ Hopleaf . Just looking at this beer makes me want to chug it down. Thick full tan head that looks alive after it is poured. Black tar looking color. Smells of roasted charred malts, chocolate, dark fruit and barley. Taste of dark roasted grain hints of plums, dark / bitter chocolate, and traces of coffee dregs. Finish has a large amount of dry roast. The sweetness from the malts with the dry roasted finish works really well together. The Nitro provides a creamy, full bodied mouthfeel. For a standard stout being under the imperial qualification, this is damn good!

Smak och doft av choklad, espresso, laktris med aningar av läder, trä och rostade toner. Rund och len med en tydlig bitterchoklad beska.

Black like coal with the perfect thick tan creamy head. Aroma and taste of bitter roast grains. Coffee, chocolate immediately come to mind. Deserving of it’s score for sure. Another beauty from Deschutes.

Tap (nitro) at Deschutes, Bond St Bend 23/05/13. Mid black with a good sized tan head. Nose is a little thin, roast malt, mineral notes, dark toffee, light chocolate. Taste comprises light roast, touch of choclate, dark toffee, mineral tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, smooth on the palate. Ok - Other than lend towards a smooth mouthfeel, nitro does little favours to a beer!
