A stout as black as the nearby volcanic flow from which it is named. Dive into its dark, robust depths with intense layers of espresso and chocolate. Roasted malt and barley give it a full, toasty finish.

355ml bottle. Jet black colour with average, creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Roasty, dark malty aroma, slightly salty, herbal, tart-ish. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, notes of espresso, high-percentage dark chocolate, very subtle dark malty sweetness, herbal and minimally bitter hoppy overtones, a salty touch. Bone dry, clean, intense dark chocolately.

A colablack beer with a dense and light brown head. The nose has roastiness, black coffee, nice chocolate, some sourness of milk. Taste is roasted, coffee, some chalk and liquirice. Succesfully sweetness thus the taste is not totally dry. Medium bodied, quite smooth to drink. Succesfully stout with strong flavours. Good beer.

I was surprised 12 oz bottle from Country Club Liqours. Nose is dark bitter chocolate with some roast nuttiness. Black with a medium lightly lacing tan head. Flavor is lightly bitter with chocolate and a very nice body and mouth feel. Very nice drinkable regular stout at a decent price.

Bottle. A- Mocha, cocoa, espresso, roasty. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Coffee, cocoa, roasty, malty, slightly bitter. P- Medium body, slightly thin texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- This one was good but by the end, it just didn’t quite leave me wanting another. The aroma was very rich but the taste didn’t quite fulfill the promise that the nose brought. Now, there certainly aren’t any complaints for this one, but just nothing wowza about it.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a dark brown/close to black colored body with a two finger off-white/tan foamy head that rises a bit and then drops gently leaving some thick spider web lacing gracing the sides of the glass.
The smell has a smokey, woody, espresso, and roasty combined fantastically.
The taste took all of those previously mentioned aromas entering a sort of sweetness from some light chocolate and some light vanilla, dry espresso aftertaste, dry sticky finish.
On the palate, she sat about a medium, semi-sessionable, carbonation is done very well for its style and for me, becomes slightly creamy.
Overall, I would definitely have this one again.

Solid black pour with very thin tan head. Mild roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Thin palate. Taste is very acidic and bitter to start, then chocolate and bitter dry finish. Not bad but there are better options in HK.
