Smells of very cloying heavy boozy caramel, has lots of clear cloying brownish red and modest foam. Flavour is syrupy cherry and malt and harshness. Mouthfeel has way too much overbearing sweetness. Nothing is working here, just harshness all around.

Getting tired of rating all these also ran beers. Drinkable, but not memorable.. astringent doppelbock? Give me a break

On tap at Callister, pours a hazy dark caramel brown with a small beige head. Aroma is very malty, with bready sweet malt, a little caramel and toasted nuts. Flavour is quite sweet, with toffee, candied caramel, and dark fruits. Far from an authentic doppelbock and bordering on cloyingly sweet. It's okay, but deficient.
