To celebrate our first anniversary, we brewed a beer that highlights the elegance and complexity of a historical style. A Bière de Garde is a French Farmhouse Saison and translates as "Beer for Keeping". Notes of raisins, candied orange peel, and clove are balanced by the smooth, lagered, dry finish. This beer will cellar for 2 years, and is meant to pair with food or stand alone.

Poured from 500mL bottle (2020 vintage). Clear amber brown with small off white head. Dried raisin, mild candied orange, almost has a light barley wine character. Wouldn't characterize it as a biere de garde, but it's okay (especially for Wildeye).

On tap. Aroma is of sugary peach and brown sugar. Has good foam on top of a clear copper body. Flavour is cloying heavy alcohol and sugar. Soft on the mouth. Just okay.
