Bottle from the Jao Hostel, Chiang Mai. Poured a hazy medium amber with a long lasting frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is malt, woody, resin, floral hop. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter, with a crisp, light fruit, aromatic hop bitter, light dry pepper spice palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. An interesting beer, far better than I was expecting after trying the English Pale Ale, and a hybrid of the modern commercial English IPA, Czech brewing, and an extra bag full of hops that can stand up against many American efforts.

An attractive, bright pale amber pour with a loose cream head; strong aroma of damp straw with a slight citrus twist; lots of resinous piney hops in the mouth that resolve into a grapefruity taste; then some alcoholic heat and a dry bitter orange finish with lingering caramel and bitter orange marmalade. I’d certainly have this again (and again).

bottle from Albert Nové Butovice. Golden colour with a tall white head. Promising hop aroma. Full-bodied, good malty flavours balanced by aromatic hops that add citrusy a nd tropical fruity hints. Smooth and pleasant palate. Delicious and very moreish.
