To celebrate another year gone by, we have brewed a special version of our Tour de Victoria Kölsch-style ale. This beer is brewed with German hops, Canadian Pilsen malts, and has locally sourced honey added to the boil for a clean, easy drinking beer with just a touch of honey sweetness in the finish. Champagne glasses anyone?

First rating! How did that happen? Not a bad label, I’m always up for something new, so here we are. Poured slightly chilled into a tall glass - there is a little bit of head that stays for a brief while, and the body is an okay gold with no carbonation bubbles to speak of. Aroma is that of a lager, but a good lager - nutty, woody, slightly hoppy, no alcohol. Appetizing. Flavour is an interesting mix of grassy hops with nuttiness on the back end and a soft finish. It’s a mellow brew, and this is good - it’s not overbearing and would appeal to those looking for an unintruding beverage. No complaints. Very nice, well balanced, a pleasure to drink. It’s one of those beers that could easily fall into the background as it’s a simple lighter beer but it’s well made. Worth a look if you find a bottle.
