Through the years, the nitro beers have not got me too excited. And now I try Galactic Cowboy in a pint can, my New Belgium globe glass is arrayed. It pours like chocolate milk and evolves into a completely black body with a frothy, creamy top of medium tan foam. The scent is coffee and chocolate. I take a drink, well, I will grant you that it is smooth. I taste roast, chocolate, toast and grain. A light sensation, not what I appreciate in an imperial stout. Just okay, worth the try.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a rich, super velvety lighter brown head that ends at around a single centimetre that stays afloat nicely on the top. Aroma of roasted malts, oatmeal, a light hit of coffee, some earth and rustic qualities with a lot of milk chocolate and lactose, all with a creamy quality, at least in the nose to couple with the roasted malts and a moderate amount of alcohol comes through in the nose as well. Medium-bodied; Super smooth, velvety texture hits through with a lot of roasted malts and caramelised sugars with some tobacco and deep bitter notes from the chocolates, but the lactose and smooth, creamy notes finish this off very nicely. Aftertaste shows the crisp chocolate and oatmeal notes with the lactose, cherries and vanilla along with some smoother alcohol tastes towards the finish with a great texture from the nitrogen, which shows through for the duration of this. Overall, this one is quite smooth already with the nitrogen, the relatively mellow malts and a nice sweetness throughout, without any horrible pungent bitter notes or astringency, and the alcohol hits in an acceptable manner and perhaps most importantly, the format is just about right (still a bit big, but better than a full-sized pint can). I sampled this 13,65 ounce can, purchased from Wegman's [grocery] in Woodbridge, Virginia on 22-December-2021 for US$1,99 (part of a mixed six pack), sampled at my house here in Washington on 05-March-2022, the day before my wife's birthday.

47cl Blik van Beer Republic. Zwarte kleur, mooie blijvende, dichte beige nitro-kraag.

Can from Craftissimo (I think?) a while back. Solid black pour with beautifully uniform fine medium tan head. Aroma is chocolate roasted somewhat rusty. Taste is smooth medium dark chocolate bitterness and creamy sweetness. Palate is incredibly smooth and fine. Overall good but nothing stands out?
