Creamy tan coloured head stayed on a very dark mahogany coloured still body. Dark chocolate, coffee & brown sugar aroma. Medium bodied, smooth, creamy & soft on the tongue with a clean back. Malt, coffee, chocolate, demerara & berry tastes with a long bitter lightly hopped finish. Cracking beer.

16 oz. can, pours black with a large, cascading beige head. Aroma brings out light roast and some soft earthy coffee. Flavour is soft, with medium roasted malt, dry cocoa, and earthy roast. Very creamy, but the nitrogenation cancels out some of the flavour depth. It's tasty but perhaps could be more complex with regular CO2.

Can form House of Trembling Madness. It pours jet black with a thick, dense tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, freshly ground coffee, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, chocolate torte, touch of charred wood, dark fruits, fruit & nut chocolate, light umami and some liquorice. The taste is rich and smooth, bitter - sweet, bitterness is firm and lingering, creamy, dark roasted malts, big hit of coffee, charred and ashy, umami, liquorice, peppery spice, dark chocolate covered coffee beans, pipe tobacco and some alcohol with a lingering, bitter charred roast finish. Medium - full body, fine fluffy carbonation and soft, massaging mouth feel. Nitro really works with this. Lifts quite a bitter dark roasted number. Moreish and quaffable.

Taster at Beasts & Brews. Pours black, with a big, foamy, nitro head. The aroma is burnt coffee, black pepper, maple syrup, and vanilla. Sweet and malty, with a drying finish. Medium body, with a syrupy, fairly velvety palate. Pretty nice.

Pours black with a big tan nitro head. Looks great. Smells of chocolate, coffee, and roast malt. The flavor is well balanced with dark chocolate, roast malt, and coffee. Smooth and tasty.

Can from a four pack - 10.99 “why the hell not” purchase from Whole Foods - gotta admit that nitro pour from the can does look pretty sexy - has a roastiness and medium-high hop profile reminiscent of some early aughts heavy hitters like Storm King - decent doses of chocolate and coffee notes - a touch of smoke and dark berries - it’s fairly good, really.

Dark and sweet, offering up loads of bitter chocolate, molasses, anise, and roast, backed up by notes of caramel, vanilla, and a little macchiato underneath. Grows more fudgy and decadent as it opens. I'd like to try a traditionally carbonated version; still haven't been won over by nitro stouts.

473ml can. A very dark brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of sweet dark malt, chocolate and coffee. Taste of sweet chocolate malt, coffee, moderate strong malt, good!
