Brewed in celebration of our annual Nucleate Beer Festival. Though the 2020 event was cancelled due to COVID-19, this collaboration with The Rare Barrel & Horus Aged Ales lives on as a symbol of the friendships and community of which Nucleate celebrates. A mixed culture sour ale, fermented with a blend of house cultures from each brewery, aged in lavender gin barrels for 2 months, before refermenting on yuzu & Papua New Guinea vanilla beans. Bottle conditioned with champagne yeast.

Bottle shared with others. Pours a a near clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has tart kiwi and a bit of melon with some lactose and sweet grains underlying. Flavor has tart kiwi and mango with a bit of citrus and light lactose underlying.

Bottle thanks to Anthony. Pours a hazy yellow gold with medium white leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is floral, honey, citrus, oak, brett. Slick body, lime zest, honey, oak, light tartness, very nice.

Bottle shared. Thanks Jon! Pours a clearish, glowing neon straw gold with a full 2 fingers of white head. Big yuzu focused nose with some floral botanical aromas and vanilla. Smooth and creamy yuzu and yogurt on the palate. Crisp and clean carbonation with some grainy texture. More yuzu flesh and zest with cream and floral notes on the finish. Some oak as it warms. Really nice stuff and fun to see yuzu and gin together.
