Our Lager takes its inspiration from the German style of lager, Helles. Ours, like the first Helles beer that was brewed back in 1894, has a sweet, malty flavour balanced with a light aromatic hoppiness that makes it very refreshing. We use Naked Golden Oats to make our Lager. Naked Golden Oats are grown without husks so that even more sweetness and flavour can be extracted from the grains during brewing.

Pours clear gold into a shaker. Bright white head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Cracker and biscuit aromas. Crisp and dry with sweet malt and mild straw front to back. Abrupt finish.

Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with a sticky cloying back.
Light malt, biscuit & cereal tastes with a hop bite on the finish.
Not bad for a lager.

Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a footed pilsner glass. Clear shiny deep golden colour, small frothy white head, mostly diminishing, some lacing. Aroma pale malt, grain, biscuit, grassy hops. Taste medium sweet and slightly bitter, malty, grain, biscuit, light peppery notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, mild sweetbitter aftertaste, clean, solid, okay.

Clear gold with a decent white frothy head. Pale malt, biscuits, herbal & spicy hop. Medium dry. Light plus ending bitterness. A decent British lager.

Festival pint draft at the Royal Mile Tavern in Edinburgh, Scotland. It pours a clear gold color with a small off-white head and very good retention. Absolutely no aroma. Soft pale malt flavor. Clean and smooth with a very faint bready note in the finish. More of a pale lager profile versus a Helles in my opinion. Light body. Medium carbonation. Not bitter.
