Our Lager takes its inspiration from the German style of lager, Helles. Ours, like the first Helles beer that was brewed back in 1894, has a sweet, malty flavour balanced with a light aromatic hoppiness that makes it very refreshing. We use Naked Golden Oats to make our Lager. Naked Golden Oats are grown without husks so that even more sweetness and flavour can be extracted from the grains during brewing.

Another great looking bottle from Innis and Gunn. Very clear mid to pale straw yellow. Largeish 5cm head slowly dissipating. Nice above average intensity nose for a lager: sweet and floral, some grassy notes citrus. Slightly sweet on the mouth, good carbonation. Some citrus, some vague earthy notes. Fades a bit too quickly. Slightly watery finish.

Draft, half pint. @Doctors, Edinburgh. 30/07/2023 [#6.596 Global - #143 Scotland - #3 Innis & Gun] Pours golden with a diminishing white head and lively visual carbonation. Poor lacing. Aroma: sweet pale malts, mild caramel and marmalade. Taste: semi sweet pale malts and caramel leading to a very light fruity hoppy finish. Next one please!

Pale gold. Not much head. Decent pale malt character, maybe a touch bready, certainly aiming for helles if not getting there. Clean, with again that light bready malt, maybe a bit doughy. Body is on the lighter side of medium. Low bitterness, and no particular hop character. Good enough to drink, but not a ton to enjoy as it's basically a mild helles and I like those bigger.
