Our Lager takes its inspiration from the German style of lager, Helles. Ours, like the first Helles beer that was brewed back in 1894, has a sweet, malty flavour balanced with a light aromatic hoppiness that makes it very refreshing. We use Naked Golden Oats to make our Lager. Naked Golden Oats are grown without husks so that even more sweetness and flavour can be extracted from the grains during brewing.

Big very white head. Clear yellow body. Faint mealy aroma with papery notes. Sweetish spicy mealy minty taste with herbal notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, low carbonation mouthfeel. Sweetish mealy herbal aftertaste with grainy notes. It’s OK, and doesn’t have any obvious flaws, but a bit bland. (0.5l can, from Meny Strømmen.)

Bottle. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of cardboard and corn on the cob. Flavour of sweetcorn juice and honeyed malt. Thin body with a watery texture. Light fizz. Like every single Innis & Gunn beer I’ve tried, it’s very sweet - it could do with a few more handfuls of bittering hops. Worsens as it warms.

500 ml can. Clear golden body with a medium sized white head. Both aroma and flavor is like any other typical industrial lager, no butterscotch or any other off flavors, quite clean and smooth actually. Nothing exiting going on, but drinkable whenever feeling for a standard pilsner/pale lager.

Bottle 33 cl. Lovely clear golden with a white head. Sweet, malty nose. Medium body, lowish carbonation, again sweet malt and some sulphur. Gets a little metallic. Fruity esters - slightly bananaish? Some late bitterness. 070316

Pours very light and fizzy, but the head formation, and retention, are not good at all. The beer has slightly more flavour than your standard lager, but not much. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at Beer Kitchen. It pours clear lager yellow with a small white head. The nose is sweet, oily, sweetcorn, buttered cheap white bread and cracker. The taste is really rather sweet, oily, buttered white bread, straw, grainy, grass with a short finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Sweet and buttery. Very basic tramp lager.
