Clear amber beer with a thin white head and a bitter, hoppy, resinous smell to it. For all the hops supposedly in it it’s really quite mellow. Has the same pine-y quality as the smell in the taste, a dab of citrus, bitter hop. Pleasant enough but doesn’t taste of anything strongly enough to be more memorable. It’s fine, though.

Four Thieves. Keg. Almost clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and fairly crispy. Clean pale malts. Mild floral mid. Mellow citrus on the back end. Light dry crisp finish. All very clean and crisp but also quite lagerish and somewhat polite.

Keg at Four Thieves. It pours clear amber with a thick white head. The nose is toasted grain, honey, cereal, straw and bread. The taste is crisp, lightly bitter, lemon peel, grapefruit, cereal, grain, straw, biscuit and light acidity with a firm, dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Ok.

Bottle from the Standing Order. Appearance - amber with a decent head. Nose - like a malt bag. Light metallic. Butterscotch? Taste - more malt bag. Light metal and caramel again . Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet astringent texture and a fairly dry and very astringent finish. Overall - I don’t want to finish the whole bottle but I feel I have to.
