No.40 is collaboration brew with our friends at Brew by Numbers. We previously made a beer with the second runnings of this Rye Wine, and launched as a prequel, in the form of a 2.6% table saison. This beer was reserved in casks for consumption in the winter months.

330ml can. Opaque, darkest brown colour with small to average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Very intense, almost pungent, caramel malty aroma, notes of dark caramel, dried fruit, raisin, pungent hints of glue, thinner, alcohol, a touch of rye spiciness, milk chocolate, white wine and white grape overtones. Taste is sweet, alcoholic, caramel malty, notes of caramel, dark caramel, dried fruit, raisin, sultana, plum, plum butter, a touch of milk chocolate, unpleasant glue and thinner interference again. Viscous texture, smooth and soft, tacky palate. This one is really extreme. Would be an excellent sipper without the really unpleasant, if not annoying boozy, glue and thinner aspects. Should be great as 5 years cellared bottle conditioned version.
