Lemmy wrote “(We are) the Road Crew” as a tribute to his crew about his time as a roadie for Jimi Hendrix. He took 10 minutes to write this anthem whilst in a North London studio toilet and in his own immortal words “It was the only quiet place in the building. I had an idea and I needed somewhere to work it through. That is the only song I can remember writing in the toilet."
‘I just love the life I lead,
Another beer is what I need,
Another gig, my ears bleed,
We are the road crew.’
Röad Crew is an American session pale ale packed full of hoppy citrus and blackcurrant flavours delivering a crisp, refreshing, superior taste to celebrate the spirit of the song and those who inspired it.

Bottle at home picked up from Morrisons. A clear orange coloured pour with a fine halo of white head. Aroma is English year, slightly eggy, jammy fruits, earthy hop, little twiggy, grass. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty twiggy malts, grassy hop. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation. not really an APA. closer to a bitter.

At a tasting, thanks, smallish bubbly head, clear darkish orange color, aroma of candy and orange marmalade, malty caramel aroma with a bit of herbs, light pleasant bitterness. Drinkable but not too good.

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Bright clear gold beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is smooth and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Light malts, mildly sweet. Decent orange and orange peel. Light smooth floral finish. Clean and drinkable. But .. I can't help thinking a good tribute to Motorheard would be some big filthy Double IPA or Imperial Pilsner, not a polite APA.

330 ml bottle, from SPAR Jørpeland. ABV is 4.7%. Clear deep golden colour, small white head. Aroma of grassy, floral and herbal hops, hints of honey. Malty but fairly dry flavour, toffee first, with reasonably distinct herbal hops, bitter and medicinal / metallic aftertaste. .

330ml bottle (5% version) @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Oct 17. Courtesy of Paolo. Many thanks Paolo. Pours clear gold, thin white head. Aroma is perhaps stronger than expected, with a good fruity malt contingent. Taste is clean with some grapefruit, citrus, sweet malt with a brisk bitterness. Light, lager-like body. Not terrible, just not great.

Bottle from Meny Vågsbygd. Almost clear amber body with a moderate sized off-white head. Relatively light but fine aroma of malt and fruity hops. Flavor is decent, plain malty and hop fruity beer, maybe closer to a British bitter than APA. Not very heavy on the hop but there is a delicate balance here, a beer to be enjoyed not pushing any limits at all. Medium body and average aftertaste. Just like the band, totally OK

330ml bottle from 'Beers of Europe': poured into my huge 'Judas' glass at home on 20th Sep 2017 during a live tasting session with myself and a Virtual bar thread on the Uk Forum pages. Clear golden amber pour, wispy white head. Floral, grassy aroma, taste also grassy with a mild maltiness. Not what I was expecting, this was boring and uninteresting. Light spicy/herbal notes in the flavour but not enough to excite my taste buds. I would never have put this down as an APA, but the front label on the bottle claims that's what it is.
