We love our American cousins. But sometimes they can be kind of full on. So we’ve crafted this beer to more British tastes. Made with American hops, it’s still got all the punch of a pale ale. Just less shouty.

Draught. Clear golden liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of bread, floral hops, citrus, grains and light earth. Taste is very light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of bread, light caramel and citrus. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty nice. Bit English in the style.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours amber with a slight haze and a lazing, white head. Some faint citrusy hops in the nose. Very thinbodied, bordering watery, some metallic accents and a dry finish. Probably has to be very fresh to be of any interest. 100815

Can from from Fresh Fields Market, Croydon. It pours clear golden-amber with a medium white head. The nose is soft, toasty grain, cereal and sawdust. The taste is crisp, light bitterness, citrus rind, toasty grain, cereal, soap and light metallic twang with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Pretty bland. So-so.

From Booths, Ilkley. Clear gold. Drinking this from a nucleated Camden glass, with makes for a dense, lasting, white head. Nice hoppage on this. Lively zest. Bit of biscuit. There’s a metallic edge that spoils things somewhat, but overall it smells pretty good. Drinks clean, and with a zingy, orange squash fruitiness. Fairly crisp. Light, short, bitter finish. Good, low ABV sessioner.
