Named for and inspired by the founder of one of our favourite Independent record labels – 4AD. Also the namesake of the opening track from 4AD band Cocteau Twins' third album Treasure! Lovely golden colour with mango, pineapple & guava on the nose & the palate. Intensely hoppy, with oats for a smooth mouthfeel, & a dry bitter finish. Best enjoyed fresh.

330ml bottle, thanks to Robin. Drunk while listening to teasers from ’Every Valley’. Pours a lightly misty golden amber, healthy large white froth. Aroma is breezy citrus, light rind spice. Taste is crisp citrus with floral shades, with a nice dry bitter finish. Nice.

Keg at the Cambridge Blue. Golden and hazy with a huge white head. Pineapple, coconut and grapefruit on the aroma. The slightest touch of soap. Sweet creamy taste with a nice balanced bitterness, but something’s a bit amiss... It’s got a soapy note that doesn’t work. It’s gone by the finish however, leaving sweet cantaloupe and mango on the aftertaste. It’s certainly worth trying although there are APAs I’ve enjoyed more.

Bottle. Hazy yellow with a thin head. Floral, bready aroma. Flavour is sharp and tangy. There’s a resinous, spicy quality to it. Ever so slightly oily in the mouth, but slightly fizzy with it. Aftertaste is airy and orange-y.

Bottle from BottleDog, Edinburgh. Hazy orange/amber body with a thick off-white head. Light lacing. Aroma of tangerine, biscuit and dried grass. Flavour of caramel, orange pith and tangy hops. Medium body with a smooth, cask-like mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A solid effort - hoppy and easy drinking.
