Panking Pole (6.2% abv) is a dry cider which gets its name from the long pole used in the orchard to shake the cider apple harvest from the trees. This is a classic golden cloudy cider with typical cider apple bitterness and fruit aromas. Dry on the palate, its complex flavours deliver a strong finish.

330ml panda from LCB. Pours a cloudy light gold, no head, still. Aroma of deep apple juice, funk, skins, medicine. Taste is quite acidic, apple skins, barnyard but oddly lacks in flavour. Semi dry with leather and wood hint but then mellows into something creamy in texture. A bit average in truth.

Litre plastic bottle from Low Cost Beer and shared with my brother Rupe on 29th November 2024. Dry apple taste, becoming more sweet as it went down.

Keg at Fell Bar, Penrith. Hazy gold. Very sharp, some sourness, vinegar hints. Unripe green apples. Quite hard to drink at first, and disliked by even the big cider fan of the group. Got a little better and a bit more applet as I had more, but still not great.

On tap at The Stable, pours a hazy golden, no head. Nose is full of leather, gentle barnyard funk, and apple skins. Flavour is bone dry, with champagne-like notes, earthy notes, leather, and some barnyard notes. Bone dry palate, with flat carbonation. Good stuff.

Half-pint, draught at Cardinals Hat. Thanks to Bob. Clear warm golden body, naked at the top, dotted spots on the glass. Moderate smell of apples skins. Green apple tartness to the taste buds, drying end. Flat. Fine bodied. Pretty nice cider. (Worcester 29.06.2019).
