Hogan’s Bag-in-Box cider is a traditional, slightly cloudy, still English cider, as with all of our products it is fermented from only 100% fresh pressed English cider apples. No concentrate is used to create this product and no sugars are added prior to fermentation. Skilled blending gives Hazy Daisy, Picker’s Passion and Panking Pole their unique personalities.
Panking Pole (6.2% abv) is a dry cider which gets its name from the long pole used in the orchard to shake the cider apple harvest from the trees. This is a classic golden cloudy cider with typical cider apple bitterness and fruit aromas. Dry on the palate, its complex flavours deliver a strong finish.

Bag in a Box @ Stable Birmingham. Looks like a mango and banana smoothie such is the cloudiness of this one. Slight medicinal aroma. Taste has a tangy acidic leaning with sour apple mush. Could do with a bit more fruit.

Cask at The Moon Under Water Watford. Closed light orange / straw coloured pour with a lasting halo of white head. Aroma is nice funky musty apples with a tart edge. Flavour is crisp musty fruit, bright apple, with some funky cheese and acid. Palate is tart and semi dry. Lingering tart apple. Decent scrumpy.

Bag in a box at William Stead JDW, Darlington. Hazy yellow colour, no head and aroma of tart apples. Taste is dry apple, green apples, fruity, woody & earthy. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry lingering woody finish. Quite OK.

Cask at Wetherspoons, Milton Keynes. Golden orange, completely still and hazy. Enticing aroma of sour fruit with slight earthy/leafy quality and a touch of mildew. Taste is bitter/sour and incredibly dry. It’s like I can feel myself dehydrating with every sip. The aftertaste is not so good: a dry woody sour with a prominent acrid note. Not bad but I’ve had better.

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - golden hazy and gloopy. No head. No bubbles so great m Nose - tangy apples and a wild yeast thing. Taste - like apple extract thick and sticky apples. Palate - medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - great scrumpy.

Polycask @ NWAF 2013, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England. [ As Hogans Pawling Pole ].Light light unclear medium yellow color with a small, open and fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy apple, sweet apple, apple peel. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light acidic with a long duration. Body is medium, carbonation is flat. [20130124]
