A powerful hop from the USA, first released in 1985 as a good source of bittering oils for the large US beer factories (you know the ones...). Thankfully Chinook soon proved itself worthy of use by discerning brewers as well, who knew how to take advantage of it’s distinctive rich citrus grapefruit properties. We have used Chinook for a number of years, and have found it be one of the best hops for flavour use.

Cask at The 2010 Bishops Stortford Beer Festival. A golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of spicy hops on a lightly malty background. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and spicy hops, leading to a dry spicy hoppy finish. Both the hops and malt feels really chewy.
