DESCRIPTION

This is Hepcat. A Session IPA. Our mainstay and our original. It’s everything the style should be – fruity nose, juicy body, bright taste. Can we humbly call it a classic?

Goes well with dancefloors and smooth moves.

Merry Christmas. Session IPA on Christmas Morn. Pour a nice golden orange coloured pour with a lasting white froth. Aroma first holds some nice soft tropical fruits, Mellon, peach, with some caramel malts and later a little floral pollen notes as well. Flavour is composed of light base grains, slight grain husk, spicy citrus and pollen hops, peach and mango. Palate is medium light bodied, with a nice dry crisp defined finish, highish carbonation, slight powdery. Lingering spicy citrus. Good balanced and sessionable

Sampled, gravity, Saturday at the brewery in Gipsy Hill. A golden coloured beer with a decent white head blanketing the upper part of the glass. Mixed fruit hops smell and taste. Satisfying moments of peach and grapefruit. Refreshing and tasty (London 28.11.2015).

Bottled@AIH53 (from AbM). Orangeish amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is kind of tropical fruit concentrate mixed witrh some slight catpissy notes as well as some floral notes. Flavour is quite bitter floral and wooden notes along with some nectary and tropical fruity notes. Fresh, but a bit too typical for it’s own good.

Bottle 330ml (AIH53, from ABM)
Slightly hazy orange color, small white head. Citrus and tropical fruits, gooseberry bush in the nose. Light-bodied. Citrusy front, then some riped fruits finishing to grapefruity aftertaste. Easy going fruity-hoppy session ipa.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Hop Burns & Black. Pours clear gold with a frothy, pure white head. Great aroma, lots of pithy citrus fruits, pale bread, nips of hay and crackers. Light sweet flavor a pleasant base layer of biscuity pale malts, then some pithy tangerine and lemon, touches of tropical fruits, a little cat pee, white bread. Light bodied with average carbonation and massaging texture. Well balanced finish with mild crispy pale malts, biscuits, more citrusy hops, a little drying pith. Supremely well balanced, with nicely nuanced hop expression and just enough pale malt sweetness to provide ballast. Outstanding. (November 2015, score: 4.2)

Keg at Westow House. It pours hazy deep gold with a small white head. The nose is sweet, juicy, mango, passion fruit, tangerine and marmalade. The taste is bitter, kumquat, tangerine, lychee, minerals, waxy citrus peel and peppery spice with a dry finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty juicy stuff. The aroma is particularly enjoyable. Good.
