DESCRIPTION

This is Hepcat. A Session IPA. Our mainstay and our original. It’s everything the style should be – fruity nose, juicy body, bright taste. Can we humbly call it a classic?

Goes well with dancefloors and smooth moves.

0,33l bottle at home from Alesbymail. Bottled 07/04/2016. BB 07/10/2016. dark yellow hazy color, small white head. smells resin, pines, exotic fruits, mango, hints of grapefruit, light currant note. nice smell. light body, soft pearly carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of light pines, some resin, lightly citric, light tobacco, some grapefruit, lemon grass. looses some taste towards the finish (might be an issue of freshness). finishes lightly bitter with notes of lemon grass, light pines and some grapefruit zest. quite good one, drinks quite nice.

Keg at the Bootlegger, 19/06/16. Golden blonde with a decent off white head. Nose is pale malt, toasted grain, melon, tangerine. Taste comprises orange pith, straw, lemon rind, light pine, toasted bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced level of hop bitterness. Ok sessioner but not ’knock yer socks off’ stuff.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt, straw, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and citrusy fruits, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a medium white head. Low carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of green stalks, lime chutney and mango. Flavour of orange yoghurt, grass, passionfruit and nectarine. Faint peppery spice. Thin to medium body with a smooth, cask-like mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Three of my favourite hops feature in this. Gipsy Hill have used them very well.
