A mixed fermentation Farmhouse Red ale brewed with aromatic speciality malt and Rye for a spicy complexity. Primarily fermented with Saison yeast and conditioned on Red Currants and Sour Cherries. Aged for a further 18 months in Red Burgundy wine barrels with the yeast Brettanomyces Lambicus yeast character.

Cask?! at BeerKat. It pours murky red - brown with a thick foamy pinkish beige head. The aroma is earth, soft, sweet, strawberry, cherry compote, jam and wood. The taste is tart, very juicy, fresh strawberry action, cherry, red currant, orange peel, fruit cocktail, sangria, sherbet, bakewell tart, earth, tannins and damp wood with a tangy berry finish. Medium body and soft, foamy carbonation. Hides abv very well and has limited acidity. Tart and fruity. Very nice!

Tap at CBC 2016, Yellow session. ink-white head that laced well. Hazy dark reddish body. Sweet and tart berries on the nose. Mixed flavours of raspberry and strawberry. Tart and sweet ending. Refreshing (Copenhagen 13.05.2016).

Sampled draft @ Tilquin English Beer Festival 2016. Last of the ked. Very hazy amber off-white head. Smell is very puckering, rotting red fruits & berries with big vinegar. Taste is very sour, massively puckering, vinegar, acidic red berries & fruits, lemon sourness. Puckering body, not really getting the barrel treatment here, a very basic vinegar heavy sour, nothing bad but it is just basic vinegar forward affair, not bad but also rather meh. Could have used something in the way of more complexity or whatever.

Draft @ Tilquin English Fest ’16, courtesy of and shared with the fine Belgian RB crew. Couleur rosâtre, col crémeux rosé. Arôme au profil plaisant de baies rouges, presque de vin et barrique, pointe de caramel et toffee en rétro sur une fine effluve de levure sauvage. Palais est légèrement aigrelet avec un accord fruité très plaisant, je penche plus sur le style rouge, petit côté rappelant une vieille brune avec un léger côté citrique en toute fin de bouche.

From Tap. Leicht trübes leuchtend orange goldenes Bier mit einer mittelgroßen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch säuerlich fruchtig, rote Früchte, Brett. Geschmack sehr sauer fruchtig, rote Früchte, leicht holzig, Brett.
