This version is straight from the brewery tanks, mellowed by a month of extra maturation at cold temperatures and a further month conditioning in the bottles prior to release. Expect a big beer that is deceptively easy drinking.

2/11/2019. Bottle from Two Brews, Colchester. Pours black with a bubbly frothy tan coloured head. Aroma of dark chocolate, liquorice, coffee, dark fruit and roasted malt. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium to full body, slick texture, bit above average carbonation. Good brew.

Loads of velvet. Licorish. Soft malts. Blackcurrants. Tar. Good body. Easy-drinking despite abv. Very well-made.
