Troy Guard is a Denver chef with a Mexican restaurant so badass we can’t even put the name on this can. While enjoying his food we had a crazy idea: brew a Mexican-style lager with corn, natural lime juice and just a hint of salt. We recommend it with the Rattlesnake Chorizo Guac- Yep, that’s real. Salud amigos!

From a 12 oz. can it is a cloudy light golden with a slight head. The aroma has hints of lime and the taste is perfumery with hints of lime and some spices with a light citrus soda finish

Big uncontrollable head from a can. I think the nose is a hint of perfume. First taste is quite an experience; sizzling friendly slightly tart beer with a little salt, could pass as a gose. Pretty good initially, Lively lemon aid color. Yes, continuous head every additional pour into the glass. Salud! Not bad! Could drink another without a blink. Probably a little better than expected.

Can at Hair of the Dog, Bangkok. Poured a light murky straw colour with little life. The aroma is apple pear grapefruit. The flavour is light acid citrus with a grainy pear lime yeasty palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

I really don’t know how this is so low. This is the craft version of corona and done very well. Smell like fresh soft taco shells with a splash of lime. Very light body, tangy lime flavor, super refreshing. Its like a Mexican vacation in a can. Very enjoyable for what it is trying to be.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy yellow gold with small frothy white head. The aroma is lime zest, salt, toasted grain. Thin body, lime, honey, tea, light finish, good.

12 ounce can into lager glass, no can dating. Pours lightly hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lightly tart lime, sea salt, cracker, corn, biscuit, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of lime/salt, pale malt, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lightly tart lime, sea salt, cracker, corn, biscuit, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Minimal bitterness and light lime tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lime, sea salt, cracker, corn, biscuit, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice robustness and balance of lime/salt, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/tartness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness. Fairly clean on lager flavors, with slight yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp/grainy, and lightly acidic/saline balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a nice fruited adjunct lager style. All around good robustness and balance of lime/salt, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
