Troy Guard is a Denver chef with a Mexican restaurant so badass we can’t even put the name on this can. While enjoying his food we had a crazy idea: brew a Mexican-style lager with corn, natural lime juice and just a hint of salt. We recommend it with the Rattlesnake Chorizo Guac- Yep, that’s real. Salud amigos!

Draft at the Epic Brewing Denver Taproom. Poured a hazy yellow color with a small white head. Aroma was light corn cereal notes, lime and a touch of salt. Reminds me of lime, salt notes, Corn notes. Strange, but drinkable - perhaps a little sweet, less fizzy than Bud Lime, which is what this reminded me of.

On draft at the Bird in jackson Hole. Pours a greenish pale gold with an off white head. Lemon aroma. Flavors of lime and toast. Better than it has any right to be. Enjoy on a hot summer afternoon.

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a cloudy pale yellow color with a medium sized foamy white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was tart citrus, chalk and yeast. The flavor was dryish with chalk, lemon and lime. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok

12 oz can. Aroma is strong lime and salt, cooked corn. Pours hazy yellow with a medium white head that falls into a ring after a minute. Taste is corn tortillas, lime, salt, kind of margarita-like. Odd. It’s like they tried to create the flavor of a Corona and lime with salt but really amped up the corn aspect and came up with a completely different beast. Weird and different, but not bad.

Taster at Denver tap room - hazy light yellow with a light green tint - aroma is heavy on the lime - like, really heavy - along with some salt, a little wheat - flavor is almost more like a wit with heavy lime character - fairly tart, lemon rind, moderate savory saltiness on the tail end - if you go in knowing what you’re getting yourself into, it’s okay and refreshing - if you go in expecting anything that resembles a lager, I can see how you’d be disappointed.
