Bottle. Strong coffee malty aroma but a pretty watery taste. Good but bark > bite.

Bottle. Similar to the Old Ale. But a little more bitter. Good. Dark, and roasty. Good flavor. Would drink again. Recommed.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours black with small tanned head. Moreish aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, some smoke. Taste of chocolate, coffee, slightly dry, light smoke and peat finish. Light to medium bodied but gives a refreshing edge to some of the richer flavours. Excellent light ABV stout.

500ml bottle from the Offie, Leicester. Drunk at home. It pours a wonderful rich dark brown with a creamy khaki head. Light roast malt on the nose, fairly chocolatey, maybe touches of caramel. Taste has a lovely balance to it, never overly sweet but carrying an earthy hoppy bitterness mid-sip to the finish. Gentle notes of coffee on the aftertaste. Soft to medium carbonation on the oily body. A delicious stout, especially for the fairly low ABV.

Bottle from The Orkney Brewery. Pours a jet black colour with a thin beige head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, liquorice and roasted malts. Taste is more of the same with strong coffee notes and lots of burnt bitterness, nuts and ash. Medium bodied with a slick very oily mouthfeel. Lots of burnt roasted notes creating a long and lingering aftertaste. A little harsh on the bitterness but still a flavourful old fashioned style stout
