Three kilos of hops and forty kilos of barley selflessly give their lives to brew every barrel of this beer. It’s a lot to ask, but their reincarnation as this life-affirming IPA makes their sacrifice worthwhile.

A ballsy, US style IPA, expect flavours of tropical & citrus fruits, with a lingering bitterness set against a smooth malty backbone.

Color anaranjado, nebulosa, espuma blanca, firme y bien retenida.

330 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Unfiltered and unpasteurised. Golden colour, slightly hazy. Large white head. Strong hoppy aroma of tropical fruits, citrus and pine. Slightly dry flavour, still with some residual sweetness. Hoppy flavour, notes of tropical fruits and pine needles, fairly bitter finish. A decent US style IPA.

Can from a random supermarket in Malta. Pours opaque golden with a white head. Nose is tropical fruits and light citric notes. Taste is sweet fruity, I get melon and light honey, perhaps a touch of mango. No trace of bitterness. Closes with a sweet finish, has a light body and soft carbonation. My only problem is that the taste is so abruptly gone, leaving an empty finish. Other than this it’s a pretty decent IPA.

Lattina.

Nice tin! Slightly hazy mid-yellow with a good head. Herbal aromas, pine, peppermint, lemon, slightly sweaty, faint tropicals. Piney taste, light to medium bodied, citrus aftertaste. Some tropical mixed in there too. Nice drinkable IPA. Not complex.
