Oxford tastings; corked bottle
Blond color, hazy. Nose of alcohol, mild fruit, mild wood, hint of berries, Brie, fish, some glue. Medium body strength, mild sweetness, the mead flavor is very mild, the barrel is stronger than the rest, similar to Chardonnay barrel; some complexity but also some off notes; the alcohol is very evident; grossly overpriced (~9CA$ for 1.5oz).

375ml bottle (thx, Matt!) shared at Alex's. Pours a hazy golden with no heae. Aroma is lots of apricots with some slight fishy and cheesy. Similar taste with more fishy notes in the taste. It is supersweet, though, that covers all the off flavours. It is still nice because of so much sugars in it. Over FUCKING pricing with 48 USD price tag.

Light amber. On the nose, a bit of honey, a bit of apricot, and a bit of woody, vinousness. Deep fruit, and a nice barrel, really good white wine character. I like the bright peachy note, too. So juicy tree fruits, nice wine, and a finish that balances richness and juicy acidity. Really nice complexity. There are sticky sugars but without a whole lot of honey characteristics.

375mL bottle, pours a clear dull copper golden. Aroma reveals rich apricot and peaches upfront, followed by vinous notes. Flavour is fairly dry, with floral peaches and apricots, some vinous notes, and perfume. Peachy, heavily vinous and quite warming on the finish. A little harsh and chaotic, but it's still lovely. Not worth the $48 US price tag.
