Porter Cieszyński to piwo dolnej fermentacji. Pasuje do menu: deski ostrych serów, wędzonych ryb, deserów kawowych i kakaowych. Piwo ciemne, pasteryzowane. Składniki: woda, słody jęczmienne (pilzneński, monachijski, karmelowy, czekoladowy), cukier, chmiel i ekstrakt z chmielu. Mętność i osad są naturalnymi cechami produktu.

From a 500ml bottle on 28/7/2017. Pours a super dark brown with a medium head which quickly disappears. The nose is chocolatey with some molasses. The flavour features lots of chocolate, caramel and brown sugar, which is met by a firmish bitterness. The texture is quite thick and the carbonation moderate. A very solid Baltic porter and under-rated on here imo.

Butelka 0.5l (31.03.2018). Barwa czarna, niemal nieprzejrzysta z rubinowymi refleksami pod swiatlo. Piana bezowa, drobna, obfita ale szybko redukujaca sie do cienkiego kozuszka na powierzchni piwa; delikatny lacing. W aromacie przeplataja sie nuty kawy, palone, czekoladowe, suszonych owocow z subtelna domieszka szlachetnego alkoholu w tle a wszystko to w srednio intensywnym wydaniu. W smaku wytrawne z nutami palonymi, czekoladowymi, kawowymi zwienczone slodkim finiszem. Piwo sredniotresciwe, leciutko rozgrzewa w przelyku i od srodka, minimalnie za bardzo wysycone choc ogolnie przyjemne w odczuciu.

Bottle. Almost black with an inch of light tan head that fades fairly fast. Aroma of molasses, mild roast, coffee, licorice, berries, faint nut oil. Fairly sweet with roasted flavours melding well with mocha, licorice, berries/ cherries and dark sugars. Not a lot of bitterness at the end, just enough to draw a close to proceedings. Alcohol is just obvious, which IMHO is highly appropriate for this sort of thing. It’s been a while since I’ve rerated Żywiec Porter, but this is not far off it - a little less hoppy, more pleasing body. I remain a total sucker for this sort of beer.

500ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige to tan head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of rock sugar, treacle, malt lozenge, an alcoholic whiff. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty, notes of malt lozenge, treacle, burnt caramel, an alcoholic touch. Too sweet and alcoholic.
