Only domestic ingredients from controlled biological cultivation are used in this amber-colored, natural and traditional beer specialty from Salzburg. When brewing this beer we add Laufener Landweizen to the blend – a fine ancient grain we grow on healthy land and malt ourselves at the Stiegl-Farm Wildshut. This completes the velvelty mild taste – an absolute delight.

Tap at Kriterium 3, Vienna, Austria. Pours fairly hazy gold, with fine white foam. Aroma is of cereal and honey. Body is average, with moderate carbonation. Taste is medium sweet, but with some noticeable bitterness. Final is average, with some honey still.

Looks terrible - a dull dun hue with murky yeastiness. Smells okay - definitely yeasty, a little bit fruity, maybe some hop in there. On the palate it's not super exciting, just a simple yeasty lager.

33cl bottle: BB 31st May 2022. Poured into a La Chouffe tulip glass at home on 16th April 2022 after an hours walk with Bertie. Cloudy old gold coloured body, smooth tight bubbled head. Nose is yeasty, malty and orange peel. Taste similar, with an stronger orange peel presence along with hop bitterness.

Bottle from Beer 52. Pours a hazy golden orange with minimal off-white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a hints of nuts. In the mouth it’s sweet and sticky. Grainy up front but with underlying vegetable chewiness. Some hops come through later, and make the finish slightly bitter. This is bland – is it a macro ?

331ml bottle. Pours a hazy gold-amber with a small, foamy, short lived, off-white head that laces. Aroma of toasted grainy pale malt, vegetal and herbal hops. Sweet flavour of toasted grainy pale malt, orange peel, light vegetal and grassy hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Not great.

330mL bottle, pours a hazy muddled orange with a small white head. Nose is full of boiled vegetables, herbal notes, and a little grass -- bleh. Flavour is a little better, with herbal notes, boiled cabbage, a touch of grass, and biscuity malt. Not a very pleasant hop character and way too vegetal. No idea how this is (at the time of rating) in the 87th percentile for Zwickels. Not good.
