Only domestic ingredients from controlled biological cultivation are used in this amber-colored, natural and traditional beer specialty from Salzburg. When brewing this beer we add Laufener Landweizen to the blend – a fine ancient grain we grow on healthy land and malt ourselves at the Stiegl-Farm Wildshut. This completes the velvelty mild taste – an absolute delight.

Bottle(.333l):Deep golden, barely hazy, medium-sized creamy and lacy white head; moderate to solid grainy to malty nose with some spicy hops in the background, a certain crunchy aroma of almost toasted malt is detectable; moderate bitter-sweet flavout, very smooth, nesrly medium bodied; drier, fruitier and hoppier in lingering finish. Well made stuff…

0,5 l bottle from Kristall-König´s austria vacation. Thanks a lot mate! Looks like wild honey in the glass with a very foamy big white head. Taste starts sweet grassy, citrus, pale grain, low malt. Smooth. Some present hop in the background. Okay.

Super hazy amber and copper coloured body with an orange glow and a thick, dense three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, coriander seed and a dose of curacao - nice. Medium-bodied; Assertive wheat flavour with a very nice and subdued sweetness. Aftertaste shows some coriander seed, light earth, grain, coriander seed, bananas and a lot of yeast with a well-rounded citrus and orangey-sweetness. Overall, a nice beer with a lot of good flavours and a very smooth finish. Nice to sample my first zwickl in Wien and a nice option, for a very nice price. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased a few minutes ago at Merkur Hoher Markt in central Wien, Austria for €1,09 sampled in my apartment hotel in the centre of Wien, Austria on 22-March-2016.

On tap at Urban Keller, Salzburg, Austria. Murky pale golden, medium creamy white head. Hay and malts, dry grass. Very grainy, like eating grain prepared for brewing. Tastes natural. Medium body and carbonation. Very tasty.

Pours a clear golden color, topped with a medium sized white head. Malty aroma, with some bready and yeasty notes and some additional herbs. Taste is mildly sweet, a bit bready and sour(ish) grassy with mild bitterness. Light, drinkable. Just plain decent beer.

07.03.2015: bottle shared by friends. copper color, very light hazy, smal off-white head. smells grainy, spicy smell, reminds me a bit of chili con carne. probably the smell of chilis and corn. medium body, slick mouthfeel, tastes grainy, rice, grassy notes, light honeyish sweetness, light dry / light bitter finish. interesting, remembered this to be better, bottle might have been a bit old though.

Bottle from a Billa in Vienna. Pours brassy gold with a white head. Aroma is bread, wheat and herb. Med body or better. Flavor is bread with a toffee touch and enough arguably noble hop to make it bitter. Good.
