Only domestic ingredients from controlled biological cultivation are used in this amber-colored, natural and traditional beer specialty from Salzburg. When brewing this beer we add Laufener Landweizen to the blend – a fine ancient grain we grow on healthy land and malt ourselves at the Stiegl-Farm Wildshut. This completes the velvelty mild taste – an absolute delight.

330ml bottle. Hazy orangey golden colour with average, frothy, half-ay lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity and malty aroma, hints of peach and orange, some protein, a bready touch. Taste is initially moderately dry, slightly grainy, bready, later with a good amount of bitter hoppy overtones; the fruity touch sadly faded beyond the threshold of perceptivity.

Flaske 0,5 l spandert av Charly i Bergweg 1, Altmünster 6 Mai 14. Gyldenbrun. Uklar. Høyt luftig betongskum. Grei maltaroma. Smaken er dominert av malt med tilløp til papp. Litt syrlighet i avslutninga. Gjennomgående forsiktig fruktpreg.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Naama’s place. Thanks Naama. Hazy yellow-golden. Aroma has some yeast, malt, bread, vegetal notes, earthy notes and a bit of noble hops. Sweetish flavor, a bit grainy, mildly malty, with some vegetal yeast and a mildly grassy and bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. Refreshing.

Bottle from supermarket. Golden to orange hazy body with a big bubbly white head that won’t last very long. Nice earthy aroma of grain, hay, grass, nuts. Taste is similar, but also medium sweet, spicy and with only a subtle bitterness. Medium slick body with good carbonation. Well, just a quaffable, refreshing, down-to-earth beer, with focus on tradition and nativeness. One of the best Zwickls brewed in Austria and one of my favourite broadly available everyday beers.

Bottled, 0.50l. Hazy orange golden color with medium frothy white head, fair lacing and many floating yeast particles. Aroma of yeast, herbal hops, grainy malt and hay. Taste starts with light sweet grainy malt, followed by refreshing yeasty sourness, with spicy mouthfeel and light bitter finish. Medium body, slick texture and normal natural carbonation. As suggested by its name, it works like a cure...
