Malzig-süßlicher Geruch. Der Antrunk ist vollmundig-malzig. Dabei leicht süßlich. diese süßliche Malzigkeit steigert sich im Hauptteil noch weiter, aber insgesamt ist das Bier etwas wässrig-laff. Auch die Süße ist komisch – schon fast irgendwie zu süß-klebrig. Der Nachgeschmack ist flach-süßlich-malzig.
--> Das Bier ist irgendwie flach – kein Tiefgang! Kein herausragender Doppelbock, aber durchaus trinkbar!

[Thanks to kevnic2008]. Bottle. Dark brown color with a light tan head with medium lasting. Aroma has notes of brown sugar, light dry fruits and toasted malts. Flavor has a good maltiness, with candy sugar notes and a moderate sweetness, but not cloying. The final is moderate sweet, slightly bttery and with notes of nuts.

On tap in Rothenburg, April 2013. I found this at a random restaurant new the town hall. Nearly black, with some redness, and a tall, lacing head. A beautiful beer. Rich malt flavor. Red meat; caramel; butter; and grains. Maybe the best doppelbock I have ever had, certainly in the same caliber as Andechs.

Catch up rating from notes, 2012: .5l bottle from Wasana's. Nice dark amber pour, small creamy beige head, streaky, clumpy lacing. Looks great! Aroma is caramelly malts, brown bread, toffee, prunes. Taste follows the aroma, deep and rich, sweet and heady, hints of alcohol add some warmth. Thick, sweet, tasty.
