Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 10.10.16. Very dark copper. Even beige head. Superb aroma and taste of dark caramel, dark berries, dark chocolate and a hint of liquorice. Still good drinkability. Medium bitterness.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours dark brown with little beige head. Aroma of dark bread, caramel, some chocolate, dark dried fruits. Taste sweet, with umami and a little fruity sourness. Well balanced. Slightly smooth mouth feel. Re-rate 2017/11/29: Shared bottle at Øl & Geologi, Norsk geologisk forening Stavanger @ UiS. Pours dark amber With big cream-coloured head. Aroma of caramel, dark bread, honey, dark dried fruits, bananas, spices. Sweet, but balanced by fruity sourness. Full bodied.

Clear deep ruby brown colour, fair two finger frothy beige head, half-way lasting, good lacing. Aroma roasted malts, caramel, light chocolate, brown sugar. Taste light heavy sweet and medium light bitter, malty, toffee, sugar treacle. Long malty sweetbitter aftertaste, light chocolate and spicy notes. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, maybe a bit too much caramel but all in all a smooth and pleasant good doppelbock.

Small slightly bubbly shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet grainy, dark sugar, minerals, weeds, sour caramel, grain, hay, almond essence, butterscotch, sour coffee. Taste is slightly sour-ish grainy, weeds, sour caramel, grain, weeds, minerals, paper, cardboard, bark, sour coffee. Medium bitterness, harsh mouthfeel. Meh!

Bottle @ Home. Pours very dark amber with a creamy light tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, wood, nuts, little chocolate, raisins. Flavor is light sweet, malty, rich caramel, nutty, chocolate, dried dark fruit. Medium body, average carbonation, light sweet finish with a bit of warming alcohol. Nice one, easy to drink. 141215

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy coffee brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of caramel malt and fruit, with notes of yeast and touches of hops. Sweet flavour of caramel, with malty and estery notes and touches of roast and hops. Slightly roasty aftertaste with mildly acetic notes. Lively carbonation. Medium to rich body. Decent, both for the style and in general.

dark reddish-brown colour, one inch of dense beige head; aroma of toffee, dried fruits (raisin and some cherry) and herbal notes; taste of malty sweetness with roasted and fruity and herbal notes; great doppelbock!
