Each year, we try to top ourselves by making the hoppiest, most intense IPA we can muster. We sample endless hop varieties during the annual harvest to choose the ultimate mix—flavorful and aggressive, yet refined. Then we push them beyond their limits to reimagine Hoptimum, a remarkably drinkable triple IPA.

Good label. Exactly how I feel right now. Sweet malts, grapefruit, overripe pineapple, resin, booze, juniper. Strong hoppy booze bomb. Terminator. Exactly what I need. 🍻🪱

355ml bottle, 10,6 % abv, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Next-to-clear amber body, a pearl white head with good duration. Fair lacing. Appealing smell of apricot and canned fruits. Powerful taste character of apricot and semi-sweet brown malts, canned fruity backbone. Resinous bitterness to a long-lived ending joined by warmth from the alcohol. Likable slow sipper on a Saturday afternoon at home. (Tromsø 24.10.2020).

Bottle, many thanks pivnizub! Clear deep orange color with white head. Aroma is resinous, pines. Taste is sucking pinecones, forest floor, a bit crystal malts, resinous. Sticky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Definitely not fresh anymore, but this is how we Europeans got to know West Coast IPAs back in the day - and they do age better than Hazy IPAs.

Now we're talking!

Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pours almost clear dark amber with off-white head. Aroma of caramel, ripe berries, pine needles, floral and citrussy notes, ethanol. Tastes pretty sweet with almost balancing bitterness. Medium bodied, alcoholic warmth. Hoptimal!

Amber, clear with a medium off white head. Lots of hoppy aroma, some sense of honey and sweet malt. Medium bitter with a good hop and honey finnish, some alc. sense at the end.. Good carbonation, medium bodied.

granig aroma met wat grassige hop, den, hars, smaken zijn wat aan de zoete (honingachtige) kant, harsige stevige bitterheid maar niet vervelend, mout, zacht, sterke smaken, wel iets te zoet, lichte caramel, verder ok

If we’re going to have an IPA, let’s make it a triple. I spotted this 12 oz bottle of Hoptimum at a Total Wine in Vegas about a month ago. There is a nice west Texas sunset coming up soon, gonna commemorate it with this sampling. The label informs of a bottling date of 6/17/20. My Teku glass will work for this tonight. Only because. The pour is a superb darkish amber followed by a persistent thin head of parchment brown. I take a smell, tropical fruit, pine and straw. A drink now, oh my. Pineapple, pine resin, honey, mango and a moderately strong hoppiness. All this and 10.6% abv too, mostly concealed. Mighty fine. I’ve not had many better.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10.6%. Copper colour, large to moderate white head. Distinct hoppy aroma, notes of pine, honey and orange marmalade. Rich mouthfeel. The flavour is medium sweet, distinct notes of pine needles, orange peel and grapefruit, also caramel and honey. Reasonably bitter finish.
