Chocolate Imperial Stout
This is a big beer, brewed with lots of Maritime Pale Ale, Chocolate and Munich malt. Hopped exclusively with Millennium to 60 IBUs, the beer was conditioned for a month on cocoa nibs, giving “rich, bittersweet chocolate aromatics, with dark dried fruits and vanilla underneath”, according to the brewery.

On tap at Garrison Brewing. Pours black with a beige head. Dusty crusts and cacao on the nose. Flavour has dry cacao and dusty bread crusts. It's fine, but doesn't really hold a candle to some of the oatmeal stouts around here. Disappointing for the style.

Jet black brown with a decent beige head. Lots of boozy barrel notes with chocolate roast. Chocolate, bourbon barrel and toffee. A long boozy finish.
