I wanted a brunette for the blonde, so I asked a Hawaiian from Ohio to help us out… Bear with me, here…

If you know her, you love her: Erica (the woman on the label) is one of those incredible people that just radiates with “aloha” – a word that often gets mistaken for a simple “hello” but has deep cultural roots across every Polynesian language. Love, compassion, sympathy and kindness are all embodied in this one word. She’s set down roots in Ohio with her family to bring that aloha spirit to the midwest. As for the beer, I loaded up the mash tun with graham crackers for a cake-y taste plus some freeze-dried pineapple in the fermenter (along with a dose of El Dorado hops) to capture a citrusy tang on top of a lovely blonde beer.

Tap at the Crafty Taproom, Marlow. Poured a slightly hazy golden straw colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, tropical citrus fruits, pineapple, light coconut. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a super fresh, crisp, juicy citrus, coconut, light lactose, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Awesome!
