Our take on a Cascadian Dark Ale, this dry-hopped brown ale features rich chocolate and caramel notes balanced by an assertive citrus and pine nose with hints of mandarin orange and honeydew melon. Starts with a clean and understated bitterness and finishes with nothing but smooth and fruity chocolate goodness.

Soft maltiness on the nose but a little liquidy. Has good foam on a medium brown body, actual brown this time, not copper or dark gold so good on them for that. Flavour is soft round biscuit and nothing else. Mouthfeel is full, there's good crispness, but could use a little oiliness. It's nothing spectacular but nice easy drinking.

On tap at Backroads, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is rather murky and confused, with earthy hops, a little bready malt, and murky crusty character. Not dialled in all that well. Okay.
