Bottle @ LCRBM 2008. Brown color. Malt, peat, flowery hops and butter in the aroma. Malty sweetish, slightly peaty flavor with roast and a hint of butter. Fairly well balanced beer.

At Jim/John is back tasting. Murky dark brown. Offwhite thin head. Woody sour infected moldy strawberries, sour berries, dusty. Medium sour, light bitter. Very dry, rusty, lactic. Medium body, gone bad or never-was-good, I’ll never know. Still some interesting complexity though. Glad for the opportunity but not a great Molen beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of Borefts Turfbock (2008) on 21 Nov 2017 at 20:39 - Score: 5. Original review text: 2.6

Bottle at THT. Hazy brown with lots of bits floating around and light beige head. Lots of sour fruits, baby poop, leaves, lots of infected notes, I barely get any malts at all. Under medium sour. Medium bodied. Not good.

Bottle at the Jim / John is back tasting, Den Haag, April 2016. Poured a murky brown colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is yest, some infection. The flavour is moderate sour with a crisp yeast malt palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Clearly this didn’t age so well.

Bottle at Monks Porter House. Dark, slightly hazy reddish/brown with a small creamy head. Quite a lot of berries both in the aroma and taste. Also wood, grape and earth. Refreshing and easy to drink. I did not detect any smoke in this five years old bottle.

11/8/9/8/10/9

Bottled vintage 2008 (BB 09/2009). Courtesy of bierkoning, ty Edo! Dark muddy red brown color, small steady off-white head. Nose is earthy, sweet licorice and oak.Medium-bodied. Sour. Intensive wood, earth, some dark malts, some peat. Suprisingly this is very similar to regular De Molen Bloed, Zweet & Tranen I had earlier this year.

Amber to brown, muddy body. Quite nasty looks. Fruity, bit sour, intense aroma. Bit disappointing, weak flavour.
