Flanders Pale Ales are sour, lightly hopped ales that tend to be subtly complex. We made this brew with our friends at Smithers Brewing Company in November. We’ve moved this beer to slowly ferment and mature since then and we now feel that it is ready. 20% of this beer has been matured in French Oak.

Bright tart malt aroma, not really Flanders-esque and more of a dark sour vibe coming through. Has cloudy copper body with okay foam. Flavour is okay Flanders funk, strong yeast and some soft rustic biscuit. Mouthfeel is full and the dry, the yeast lingers well. It's an okay attempt at a Flanders red.

On tap at Iron Road, pours a hazy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out some Worcestershire sauce, a little balsamic, and a little oak. Flavour is oaky, with gentle balsamic, medium tartness, and oak barrels. Pleasantly tart and fairly complex. Nice stuff.
